Tyson appoints new CEO for the fifth time in five years

With immediate effect, Donnie King is resuming the role of chief executive and company president at packer and tanning group Tyson. He replaces Dean Banks, who is leaving the company for personal reasons.

Mr Banks became chief executive of Tyson in December 2019, succeeding Noel White, who only took up the role in September 2018 when predecessor, Tom Hayes, left, also for personal reasons.

Tom Hayes had become president of Tyson in June 2016 and took over as chief executive at the end of that year, replacing Donnie Smith, who had led the company since 2009.

New chief executive, Donnie King, joined Tyson in 1982 and has held a number of senior roles, including head of poultry and prepared foods and president of North American operations.
