Luxury group Furla has set up a new production, logistics and education centre near Sambuca, about 25 kilometres south of Florence.

The complex, which comprises three separate buildings on a site of 43,000 square-metres, is located close to the headquarters of Effeuno, an outsource leathergoods manufacturing partner that Furla took ownership of in 2017.

Mauro Sabatini, who took over as Furla chief executive at the start of this year, told Italian media that the company had invested €30 million in the new facility. It will include a new Furla Academy, in which the company will train a new generation of leathergoods artisans.
