New chief executive starts work at TFL
The new chief executive of leather chemicals group TFL, Dr Wolfgang Schütt, has started his new role. March 1 was his first day in the job. His predecessor, Dr Peter Amann, stepped down at the end of 2020.
Dr Schütt was previously chief executive of another global chemical company, Eckart, which operates mainly in the automotive, industrial coatings, printing and cosmetics industries.
Eckart is part of the Altana group. Wolfgang Schütt joined Altana in 2005.
He said on accepting the role at TFL that combining the company’s strengths with those of Lanxess’s organic leather chemicals business as the main area of focus. TFL announced the acquisition of this part of Lanxess’s business in August 2020. It expects to conclude the deal in the second quarter of this year.
