Specialist tannery waste processor SICIT has appointed a new country manager for the US market, with Ryan Keller taking up the role.

An agronomist by training, Mr Keller worked for Dow AgroSciences for six years before joining plant nutrient developer Compass Minerals.

SICIT uses residues from the leather manufacturing sector to make amino acid- and peptide-based fertilisers.

Its chief commercial officer, Alessandro Paterniani, said on announcing the appointment that having Mr Keller on board would help the Italian group build up its level of dialogue with local partners and expand its presence and the bio-stimulants market in North America.
