Arzignano-based biotech firm hails success of tree-planting project
Italian biotech company ILSA, one of the partners in the ‘Green Leather Industry for the Environment’ project, which ran from 2014-2017, has revealed the initial results of a carbon-offset initiative, which it hopes will help it become a zero-impact company.
In 2019, the Arzignano-based company funded the planting of 3,000 fruit trees in Colombia, Guatemala and Thailand. It worked with 176 small-scale farmers on this initiative.
Together, these trees will absorb more than 1.75 million kilos of carbon dioxide per year.
