VW presents first Argentina-made SUV
Automotive group Volkswagen has celebrated the formal presentation of a new sports utility vehicle (SUV), the Taos, made in Argentina.
After the launch event, the president of Volkswagen Latin America, Pablo Di Si, said the Taos is the first SUV to be produced in Argentina and he said the project was the result of an investment of $650 million that the group has made at its assembly plant in General Pacheco, 40 kilometres north of the centre of Buenos Aires.
He said the new vehicle would launch on the Latin American market in the second quarter of 2021. He said the Taos would be an important part of the group’s wider SUV offering, made with the needs of Latin American customers in mind.
