Hall-of-fame status for leathergoods entrepreneur
Great British Entrepreneurs, an organisation that aims to promote and celebrate entrepreneurship in the UK, has inducted The Cambridge Satchel Company founder, Julie Deane, into its hall of fame.
Ms Deane was a multiple-award winner at the inaugural Great British Entrepreneurs awards in 2013, picking up its entrepreneur of the year award and two other prizes. In subsequent years she served as a member of the judging panel for the event.
On being inducted into the hall of fame, she said: “Entrepreneurs sometimes aren’t the best at celebrating, and celebrating is so important to keep going for when the rubbish times happen. They happen too, and it’s all part of the journey. Learning to celebrate and recognise when you are doing something well is invaluable.”
