European Union leather industry representative body COTANCE and trade union organisation industriAll Europe have announced that a conference they hoped to organise in Vienna in June will now go ahead, online only, on December 1.

This conference will bring to a conclusion a project to produce an updated leather industry social and environmental report (SER).

IndustriAll and COTANCE produced their first leather SER in 2012. They have worked with leather industry bodies from Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Portugal, the UK and Sweden to bring the information up to date and planned to release the 2020 report at the June conference. The event was cancelled because of covid-19.
