APLF 2021 postponed until July

Following postponement and eventual cancellation of the APLF exhibition in Hong Kong in 2020 owing to covid-19, the organisers have now announced that the 2021 edition of the event will not run at the end of March, as scheduled. Instead, the 2021 edition is now scheduled to run from July 5-7 next year.

Event director, Grace Lee, said this had been a difficult decision but that, in view of the ongoing travel restrictions because of covid-19 and the difficulties many exhibitors and visitors still have in planning international trips, she said the decision to add more than three months’ to people’s preparation time would be best for all participants.

At the time of the announcement, director of APLF co-organiser Informa, Michael Duck, commented: “I have been involved with this exhibition for 26 years now and never have I seen the world turned upside-down as it is now.”

He said he hoped people across the leather supply chain would remain safe and healthy and able to keep “a positive mindset that we will beat covid-19 and bring the industry back to full strength”.
