Volkswagen group H1 figures show growth for only one brand

Automotive group Volkswagen has published its results for the first six months of 2020, which show an overall decline in the volume of sales of 27.4%. In the January-June period this year, the group delivered just under 3.9 million new passenger cars and commercial vehicles.

With one exception, all of the group’s brands registered double-digit declines.

Sales of Volkswagen branded passenger vehicles, those of Audi and of Skoda fell by 26.7%, 22% and 31.3% respectively, reaching totals of 2.2 million, 707,000, and 426,000. There were also declines of 12.4%, 22.1% and 21.4% for Porsche, Lamborghini and Bugatti, with total volumes of 116,964, 3,548 and 33 vehicles respectively.

One brand registered growth: Bentley. First-half sales for Bentley were 4,918, an increase compared to the same period last year of 2.8%.
