Redesigned leather mill functions as work space and showroom
The new leather mill and showroom for Japan-based Creative Clan was recently featured on designboom, in a feature celebrating innovative interior design projects. Japanese design studio Althouse was commissioned to come up with an interior that would function as a work space while also serving as a showroom so clients could see the range of leather inventory.
According to the profile, Creative Clan makes leather products for brands in Japan and abroad, providing services that range tanning and dyeing leather to creating the final products.
The warehouse is 10 by 20 metres, according to designboom, with windows positioned to provide abundant natural light.
To allow the space to function as a showroom, shelving on the wall holds open-faced wooden boxes for visibly storing samples of leather.
