Turkey raises import duties for footwear and leather
The Turkish government has introduced additional but temporary customs duty rates for products including leather and shoes to help support its domestic industries “in a fluctuating market”.
Textiles and garments are also on the list of products that will now have additional customs duties ranging between 8% and 35%.
The additional customs duty rates will apply until September 30.
However, goods that are ready for shipment and imported before a certain date will be exempt. The customs declaration should be registered within 30 days from the publication of the decrees (April 21, 2020).
