Ferrari outlines 'return to work' plan
Carmaker Ferrari has outlined the steps it is taking to try to keep workers safe as its facilities in Modena and Maranello prepare to reopen.Maranello prepare to reopen.
As well as adapting workplaces according to government guidance, there will be a voluntary screening of employees, including blood tests, to monitor their health.
This will extend to employees’ families and to suppliers’ staff.
Each employee will be offered an app, which can monitor symptoms and track people they have been in contact with, and will be offered telephone counselling.
The company said: “Any employee who tests positive for Covid-19 will get free insurance cover as well as accommodation suitable for self-isolation, with medical and nursing support at home, along with the support of medical equipment.”
It added that it is working with hospitals and a pool of Ferrari company doctors. “With these measures, Ferrari is taking care of its most precious resource, its people, facilitating the safest and most worry-free possible return to working life," it said.
At the end of March, the Italian company signalled that it planned to resume production on April 14.
