Technology provider makes its platform free for six months for leather sector

An Arzignano-based technology provider, The ID Factory, which specialises in information-sharing systems for companies in the fashion supply chain, has said it will offer its services to leather industry companies for six months free of charge.

The company has said it believes its technology, comprising cloud-based tools, can help companies work more smartly at a time when so many people are working remotely from one another.

It said the emergency caused by the spread of the coronavirus had led it to offer its support to companies in the leather sector. “Meetings and travel plans have been cancelled,” the company’s general manager, Enrico Purgato, told World Leather, “so we are forced to change to smart working or home working. This is only a change of habits, but we are able to do the same things as before, or almost.”

A basic version of the ID Factory platform will, therefore, be available free of charge for six months to make it easier for tanners, their suppliers and their customers in footwear, leathergoods and fashion to adapt to smart working.
