Tannery donates face masks to nursing homes
Press in Italy have reported that Conceria Tuscania, a tannery in Castelfranco di Sotto, has donated 1,000 protective face masks to Meacci nursing home, based in tanning district Santa Croce.
The local mayor said in a Tweet: "We all know how difficult it is to find these types of supplies. So thanks, therefore, to Francesco and Azzurra for their generosity; thanks to all those who have, in these days, a thought for others.”
Italy’s leather production, along with all non-essential manufacturing, has been stopped until at least April 3.
At the time of going to press, Italy had reported 64,000 cases of coronavirus and more than 6,000 deaths.
