Leather UK soon to issue survey about members’ companies

03/03/2020

Trade association Leather UK is letting members know that they’ll soon receive an online survey seeking facts and figures about their respective companies.

“A current and accurate overview of the British leather sector is essential in our approaches to government,” the group said in a post about the survey. “The data gathered will demonstrate that although we are a small industry, we are part of an important and valuable supply chain, creating wealth and jobs in the UK, and doing so sustainably.”

Requested details will include turnover, export sales, employee numbers, raw materials provenance, and other key performance indicators. Results will be confidential; data will only be used in generic terms and won’t be shared in an individually-identifiable format.

“The ability to demonstrate the size and scope of our sector is also of value in reassuring our customers that the leather they buy in the UK is manufactured to the highest possible standards,” the group said.
