Chinese leathergoods company inks Bangladesh deal
Chinese company Canton Unicorn Leather Goods Factory is investing $1 million in a factory in Bangladesh, creating more than 700 jobs.
The facility will will produce 1 million bags, belts and small leathergoods, according to the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA).
Mohammad Faruque Alam from BEPZA and Kang Yanhong, managing director of Unicorn Leather signed the agreement in Dhaka.
BEPZA described it as a “beacon of hope” in the pandemic: “In this global crisis, China thinks Bangladesh's Export Processing Zone is a safe and profitable investment destination.”
