Leather goods artisans enter the mask-making field
Makers of leather goods and accessories are expanding their selections to include leather covid-19 protective face masks.
Florida company All American Gator, for example, is currently offering masks made with leathers of python, alligator and iguana. The masks range in price from $90 to $120 and come with five precut filters, though the company specifies that they are for general public use and not intended to replace N-95 or surgical masks.
Philippino label Fino Leatherware is producing leather masks (pictured) made with French calf leather, sheepskin lining and nickel-finish studs. The leather mask, called “La Mascherina”, is produced in a range of colours and comes with two reusable filters, costing 1950 Philippine pesos or around $40.
