Operations at an abattoir in Gütersloh, Germany, have been suspended since Wednesday due to an outbreak of coronavirus at the site.

According to BBC, more than 650 workers tested positive there, resulting in thousands being instructed to go into quarantine.

The site is operated by the Tönnies Group. BBC said more than 1,000 workers have been tested and thousands more are due to be tested. Workers and those they are in contact with are to remain in quarantine until they are cleared by test results.
