Luxury leathergoods brand Louis Vuitton has appointed Johnny Coca as its new director of women’s accessories.

Mr Coca left his role as Mulberry’s creative director in March.

French newspaper Le Figaro quoted him as saying he would take up his role on June 2 and would be proud to rejoin Louis Vuitton and its artistic director, Nicolas Ghesquière. He said this would be a true return to his roots.

Johnny Coca said Louis Vuitton was where he had first had the chance to live out his passion for leathergoods and that he had learned the basic principles of his craft at the brand’s workshops in Asnières, on the outskirts of Paris.
