Luxury automotive brand Aston Martin has announced the departure of chief executive Andy Palmer. 

Current chief executive of Mercedes-AMG, the high-performance vehicles division of Mercedes, Tobias Moers, will take over as chief executive of Aston Martin on August 1.

On making the announcement, the executive chairman of the Aston Martin board, Lawrence Stroll, thanked Dr Palmer for his work at the company, but then said: “Now is the time for new leadership to deliver our plans.”
