Bangladesh tanners ask for financial help
The Bangladesh Tanners’ Association (BTA) has held emergency meetings with government ministers and a number of banks to address a financial crisis in the leather industry there, local media have reported.
According to reports, BTA has asked for around $70 million to help tanners address financial shortfalls caused by a 40% decline in orders from Spain, Italy, South Korea and Hong Kong. Business has declined because of covid-19, BTA said.
