New solutions for hide-grading and traceability
Auckland-based technology provider Mindhive has made its solutions for grading and tracing material available to the tanning industry.
It is offering two tannery-specific solutions: one to automate the hide-grading process and the other, Mindhive has said, to deliver “full end-to-end traceability”. Its technology can apply a unique laser-encoded identification profile to each hide.
The technology will help leather manufacturers to cut costs, increase transparency and achieve efficiencies in their production set-up, it claimed.
“Machine vision and artificial intelligence are the key drivers behind the Mindhive solutions,” the company said. “Together they offer the ability to deliver grading services that are faster, cheaper and more accurate than current processes.”
