Leather cleanser works against covid-19

UK-based Flitetec’s antibacterial cleaner for leather, soft furnishings, and plastics has been certified as 99.9% effective in eliminating e.coli, listeria monocytogenes, salmonella typhi and staphylococcus aureus, and the company said it’s effective against covid-19.

The company is now offering the MX14 Aero antibacterial cleaner, which was tested at Kappa Laboratories in Florida, free for trials in airlines.

The product was originally developed as a water-based antibacterial cleaner to remove ink and stain marks from leather and soft furnishings.

However, according to Flitetec managing director Trevor Lea, as it’s effective in decontaminating surfaces of covid-19 and complies with regulations and aerospace specifications, “operators can use it with confidence both for maintenance and for any deep cleans of aircraft before they return to service.”
