LVMH says Dior artisans continue to work from home
Although the Dior workshops at 30 Avenue Montaigne closed in March due to the covid-19 pandemic, the French luxury brand said work on upcoming collections has not stopped. The brand’s artisans, according to Dior, have been finding novel ways to continue their creations from home.
“It is not always easy to stitch a Bar suit in the kitchen,” the brand writes on its website. But thanks to numerous videoconferences, the “petite mains” have managed to work, illustrating the “undaunted spirit of these artisans who in just a few weeks adapted their habits to their new working environment, guaranteeing that the runway show will go on”.
The company said such efforts will help to ensure the fashion house can recover from the shutdowns caused by the pandemic.
