Lineapelle, Tanning Tech and Simac open in Milan
Tanners, leather chemicals manufacturers and tanning and footwear machinery developers gathered in Milan on February 19 for the start of the Lineapelle, Tanning Tech and Simac. The events continue until February 21.
Lineapelle organiser UNIC told World Leather it had concerns about the impact the coronavirus outbreak in China might have on the event, but said it was pleased with how the first day had gone.
If visitor numbers from Asia, and in particular from China, suffered owing to travel restrictions, there was a boost for the three shows from finished shoe exhibition Micam and finished leathergoods event Mipel, for which February 19 was the final day. Large numbers of visitors passed among the different events’ halls.
UNIC organised a seminar on the leather supply chain’s commitment to sustainability, traceability and animal welfare on the first afternoon, at which there was standing-room only.
