Leather Research Laboratory announces educational opportunities for 2020
The Leather Research Laboratory at the University of Cincinnati has announced several educational opportunities for 2020.
It will hold its two-day Leather Orientation Course in Cincinnati on April 8 and 9. This course covers a wide range of leather-related issues, including physical structure, species identification, hide supply, wet-end and finishing operations, regulations, testing and customer acceptance issues.
Attendees will have an in-depth tour of the laboratory and will receive a book with various leather samples to take home and use as a reference. The cost of this course is $985 per person with a discounted price of $885 for additional participants from the same company.
Later in the year, the Leather Research Laboratory will run its Introduction to Leather Testing workshop. The dates will be August 19 and 20.
This workshop is designed for people who need a comprehensive understanding of the theory and application of standard test methods in use in the leather industry. The workshop is a blend of classroom instruction and handson application in the laboratory.
Participants will be able to perform many of these test methods and techniques on provided leather samples or, if they prefer, on their own leather. The cost of this workshop is $1250 per person.
