Relocation could help Hardy UK increase blades production
Supplier of shaving and fleshing blades to the tanning industry Hardy UK is to relocate its Liverpool-based operation to a new site close to Aintree racecourse. It has leased a site at a new logistics park called Mersey Reach.
In the autumn, Hardy will relocate its team from its current site in Bootle to the new facility. It has said this move should increase its production capacity and allow it to create new jobs. Construction work at the new site should be complete before the end of August.
Commenting on the development, Hardy UK managing director, Peter Oxspring, said parent group Arkote realised in 2015 at the time of acquiring the company that to sustain Hardy UK as the largest blade manufacturer in the leather industry and grow the business, relocation would be essential.
“Having considered many options,” Mr Oxspring said, “we decided that this substantial new development would be the perfect place to call home for the next chapter in the growth and development of Hardy.”
