Atlantic Leather refurbishment to be complete by mid-February

As we reported on January 13, specialist fish leather manufacturer Atlantic Leather us under new ownership.

The new management team at the tannery has told World Leather that its production site at Saudárkrókur in the north of Iceland is undergoing refurbishment but that the operation will be back up and running at full speed by mid-February.

A Reykjavík-based investor, Hlynur Ársælsson, is the new owner of the company.

Former chief executive, Gunnsteinn Bjornsson is still involved in a technical capacity and will work to make further improvements to the company’s proprietary systems for tanning fishskins, develop new colour options and so on.
