Spanish leather export figures show promise

16/01/2020
Official figures from the customs authorities in Spain show that the country’s tanners exported finished leather with a value of almost €320 million in the first ten months of 2019. This figure shows a decline of just under 1% compared to the same months in 2018.

Industry commentators have said, though, that monthly figures towards the end of the period showed more positive figures for finished leather exports and that growth could be just around the corner.

Italy, France and Portugal were the biggest buyers of Spain’s finished leather over the ten-month period.
