German car market grows in 2019, but exports and production fall

However, production and exports fell owing to what industry association VDA called “weaker demand around the world”. German passenger car manufacturers built almost 4.7 million cars in 2019, but this figure represents a decline of 9% year on year. They exported 3.5 million of these vehicles, a fall of 13%.
