The organisers of Milan-based footwear exhibition Micam will introduce a new component to examine materials development and consumer trends.

At the next edition, which takes place from February 16-19, a new display area called Micam X will be part of the event to provide a platform, the organisers have said, for “the most innovative and high-tech products and ideas”.

Micam X will give visitors a chance to discover trends, explore changing fashion styles and learn about innovative materials, sustainability and the future of retail, the organisers added. Presentations, workshops, special installations and other initiatives dedicated to innovation will be developed around three key themes for the industry: materials, sustainability and retail.
