Gruppo Dani holds joint workshop on sustainability with Poltrona Frau
13/12/2019
Poltrona Frau chief executive, Nicola Coropulis, opened the session by highlighting how sustainability can be the key to long-term company growth. He said companies must be able to engage simultaneously on the economic, environmental and social fronts.
Dani said it recognised the accuracy of this and explained that it has been committed to putting sustainability at the centre of everything it does for more than ten years now; it described sharing the experiences it has had and the lessons it has learned at events such as the joint workshop with Poltrona Frau as “a natural step”.
Representatives of both companies also had the benefit of input from one of Italy’s foremost thinkers in sustainability issues, consultant and writer Daniele Pernigotti. He offered the workshop a view of climate change across history and projected ahead to the extreme scenarios that many scientists say could occur in the near future. He then considered what the possible impact of this future change will be on companies, consumer behaviour and economic policy.
Dani’s sustainability and communications manager, Guido Zilli, told attendees that one of the benefits the leather manufacturing group has gained from its hard work to become more sustainable range from the company’s reputation growing stronger in the marketplace, which generates greater customer confidence. He pointed out that there had also been real savings in its use of resources.
After the workshop, Mr Zilli said: “It was a day of open debate, a reflection on possible future collaborations that can arise when two companies, with their wealth of previous knowledge and experience, decide to collaborate on an important topic.”
