Boost for Pakistan as new FTA opens up leather trade with China

10/12/2019
Reports from China say that phase two of a free-trade agreement (FTA) it first signed with Pakistan 13 years ago came into force at the start of December. The first phase of the China-Pakistan ran from 2007 until now, with 724 Pakistan-made products gaining duty-free access to the Chinese market.

Phase two amplifies the trading relationship between the countries and increases to more than 1,000 the number of products that manufacturers in Pakistan can export to China duty free.

Among the new products to gain new terms in December for access to the Chinese market is leather.
