Leathergoods exports lift industry figures in Bangladesh

Bangladesh’s leather industry earned just over $390 million in export revenues in the first five months of the current financial year, July-November. This is a fall of 10% compared to the same months a year earlier.

Finished leather exports fell in value by more than 25% over the period and shipments of leather footwear brought in 12.9% less than in the corresponding period last year. Only leathergoods produced export growth, with its earnings up by 11.1%.
