Thousands still available to SMEs in cash injection programme

As with earlier Worth projects, funding for ELIIT has come from Cosme, a platform the European Commission set up in 2014 to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) become more competitive. Cosme comes to a conclusion in 2020.
A unique aspect of the ELIIT project is that it insists on collaboration among SMEs from different parts of Europe, saying this will “enable innovation and cross-fertilisation”. In turn, those running the project have said, this will allow SMEs to overcome obstacles in the integration, implementation and use of advanced technologies and to enter niche markets for new products and services.
Specifically, ideas must come from the fashion, textile, footwear, furniture, leather, jewellery and accessories sectors. This means grants of €70,000 are still available to a wide variety of leather-sector SMEs.
In addition to the money, successful SMEs will receive coaching and advice and the chance to attend workshops, conferences and exhibitions. They will also receive support in protecting their intellectual property rights.
