Solid third quarter for JBS

Packer and tanning group JBS achieved revenues of around $12.4 billion in third quarter of the year, an increase of 5.6% compared to the same period in 2018.

Earnings before tax for the quarter were $1.4 billion, which JBS said was a 33% increase on the figure for the corresponding period last year and a record for the group.

Chief executive, Gilberto Tomazoni, said the group was “very satisfied” after a “solid results” for the quarter.

At the JBS Brasil division, which includes the group’s leather manufacturing business, JBS Couros, there were revenues of around $2 billion for the quarter, up by 11.4% year on year.
