Burberry’s latest director brings Asia know-how
Luxury brand Burberry has appointed Sam Fischer to the board as a non-executive director and member of the remuneration and nomination committees, with effect from November 1, 2019. 

Mr Fischer is currently president of Greater China and Asia Pacific at drinks group Diageo and a member of its global executive committee. 

Burberry chairman Gerry Murphy said: “Sam’s experience and first-hand knowledge of leading iconic heritage premium brands will be a huge asset to Burberry as we grow our business in key Asian markets. We are delighted that he has accepted our invitation to join the Burberry board.” 

Since joining Diageo in 2007, Mr Fischer has held several senior roles and previously held a number of commercial and general management roles at Colgate-Palmolive.
