Indonesia aims to boost its manufacturing sector

In 2002, the bank said on making the announcement, manufacturing contributed 30% of Indonesia’s gross domestic product. However, its share today is around 20%.
The measures include boosting what the bank called “green financing”, improving port facilities, tax incentives, and working hard to attract important brands to source in Indonesia.
Automotive and footwear, and industries that support them, are to be key areas of focus, BI said.
