July production boost for Brazilian footwear

Brazil’s footwear manufacturers achieved an 11.8% increase in production in the month of July, compared to the same month last year. The figures come from the country’s official statistics body,  IBGE.

This July boost has given the industry accumulated production growth in the first seven months of 2019; shoe production for the seven-month period was 3.2% higher than in the same period last year.

Shoe industry body Abicalçados said the positive figures were. an indication of an increase in employment figures across all sectors in Brazil a return of consumer confidence.
