China increases its investment in overseas projects

In the first eight months of 2019, China’s ministry of commerce invested a total amount of $70 billion in businesses in 159 different countries. This represents an increase of 2.7% compared to the same period last year.
Almost $9 billion from this total went into financing projects that form part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, with money going to 53 different countries.
