Brazilian footwear exports on the up in the US

A total of 13 Brazilian footwear brands were among the exhibitors at the FN Platform event that constituted part of the Magic exhibition in Las Vegas in mid-August.

In the course of the three-day event, the Brazilian participants took orders for around 100,000 pairs for delivery in the second half of this year, a 25% increase compared to the business Brazilian shoe companies generated at the August edition of the event last year.

Industry body Abicalçados has interpreted this as a further positive sign of growth in the US market for Brazilian footwear.

In the first half of 2019, Brazil exported more than 7 million pairs of shoes to the US, bringing in revenues of $120 million. These figures indicate an increase of 33% in volume and of 40% in value compared to the first half of 2018.
