First-half growth for Kering goes close to 20%
Luxury group Kering achieved revenues of €7.6 billion in the first half of 2019, an increase of 18.8% compared to the same period in 2018.

The group described the six-month period as “another period of outstanding growth” for one of its most important brands, Gucci, with revenue up 16.3% on a comparable basis.

Bottega Veneta, which has been a cause of concern for some time, reported revenues that were down by 3.8% on a comparable basis, but Kering said the Italian leathergoods brand had “a positive second quarter” and that it’s new collections had been well received.

“ Our strategy is clearly paying off,” said chief executive, François-Henri Pinault, on announcing the results. “The success of our brands, built on creativity, innovation, and customer dedication, along with rigorous execution and financial discipline, are delivering a superior combination of organic growth and sustainable profitability.”
