Car production down 12% in Germany

On the domestic market, passenger car sales registered 1.8 million vehicles, a 1% increase on the same period in 2018. Industry association VDA said this was the largest first-half total this decade.
The organisation expressed some concern that orders from outside Germany in the first half of this year fell by 6% compared to the same months in 2018. It pointed out that 75% of the passenger cars made in Germany go overseas.
