02/07/2019
Brazil’s hide and leather exports brought in $540.8 million in revenues in the first five months of 2019.

While this represents a decline in value of 18.7% compared to the same months in 2018, the figures for this year also show an increase of 6.4% in terms of area exported. Between January and May 2019, Brazilian tanners and traders shipped 64.5 million square-metres of wet blue, crust and finished leather.

Finished leather accounted for 58.7% of the total value and 44% of the volume. Wet blue’s share was 28% of value and 48.9% of volume.
