IULTCS congress bids farewell to Dresden

The XXXV IULTCS Congress in Dresden came to an end on June 28, completing a record number of presentations.

Over four days, the congress, this year combined with the Freiberg Leather Days event, offered the 440 delegates a scientific programme of more than 170 presentations, ranging from 20-minute keynote lectures to three-minute speed-science and poster presentation slots.

An accompanying cultural programme included a walking tour of the host city, a dinner and river cruise on the Elbe and a gala dinner on the final night.

After his closing speech, congress president, Dr Dietrich Tegtmeyer, handed over the IULTCS Congress flag to Professsor Mwinyikione Mwinyihija, executive director of the African Leather and Leather Products Institute. The XXXVI  IULTCS Congress will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in 2021.
