Portuguese innovative leather project to run for a second time

Portugal’s national tanning industry body, APIC, is launching a second edition of its PT Leather InDesign project. 

The initiative began two years ago with the aim of encouraging the country’s tanners to develop innovative leather collections. Its first edition reached its conclusion in April at the Expopele
event in Alcanena. Expopele included catwalk presentations of the products that emerged from the first PT Leather InDesign project.

To kick-start the follow-up project, PT Leather InDesign 2, APIC has invited tanners to attend a presentation at the offices in Alcanena of research and testing body CTIC. The main presenter will be leather industry consultant and artist João Carvalho, who has already prepared a leather trends and concepts book for fashion season autumn-winter 2020-2021 to inspire the tanners who take part.
