Tokyo International Leather Fair celebrates 100th edition

The Tokyo International Leather Fair took place for the 100th time in the Japanese capital from May 22-23.

A total of 55 companies exhibited at the event, which took place at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Center. Japan’s ministry of economy, trade and industry and the Japan Leather and Leathergoods Industries Association are supporters of the fair.

Italian leather exhibition organiser Lineapelle is listed as a co-supporter of the Tokyo International Leather Fair and, on this occasion, took 11 companies to Japan to exhibit, comprising eight Italian tanners and three component suppliers.

In addition, Lineapelle set up a trends area at the event, showcasing leather articles its fashion committee believes will meet the needs of designers and brands for the spring-summer 2020 season. A member of that committee, Antonella Bertagni, also gave a trends presentation at the fair.
