JALCA appoints new editor

23/05/2019
At the 115th annual convention of the American Leather Chemists Association (ALCA) in Florida in mid-May, long-standing editor of the association’s official journal, Robert White, announced his retirement.

In the course of the last 13 years, Robert White expanded the editorial board of the Journal of the American Leather Chemists Association to reflect more accurately the increasingly international character of its contents. He also introduced an online version.

Before becoming JALCA editor, Mr White worked for leather chemicals manufacturer Rohn & Haas for 25 years, and for automotive leather producer Eagle Ottawa for ten years before that. He also ran his own leather consulting firm, Quailtek Resources.

Steve Lange, director of the Leather Research Laboratory at the University of Cincinnati, will be the new editor of JALCA. Mr Lange has worked in the leather industry for almost 30 years, mostly at automotive leather manufacturer Seton.
