Belgian leather manufacturer to run photography competition again

24/04/2019
The Radermecker tannery in Comines-Warneton in Belgium will run a second edition of a leather photography competition for its customers in 2019.

After a successful inaugural competition in 2018, users of Radermecker leather will once again have from May 23 until October 31 this year to take photographs of the finished products they make from the material the tannery produces. All photographs submitted to the competition will be uploaded onto a dedicated website and online visitors will vote for their favourites.

At the close of the competition in the autumn, Radermacker will assemble a panel of leather industry experts to choose an overall winner.

Radermacker is one of only two tanneries operating in Belgium today; the other is the Tannerie Masure in Estaimbourg, which is partly owned by luxury group LVMH. The Radermecker family set the business up in 1870 and ran it until 2016, when, in his late eighties, André-Jean Radermecker decided to sell. The buyers were Loïc Honoré and Nicolas Quintin, entrepreneurs from across the border in France.
